How I Got Here
My story I believe begins in childhood when I was lucky enough to be included and educated about women by my mother. Already at 6 years old, I was very excited to get my period, develop into a woman, and one day carry, and birth my child. During my entire life, my biggest dream has been to become a mother, and have a family of my own. Although I haven't found it right to have children yet, 5 years ago, I was very privileged to be present for my sister's pregnancy, be her birth partner and be present for her and my niece ever since. This experience opened my eyes further on the huge meaning, impact and importance pregnancy and birth have for anyone who goes through it. In 2018, I am grateful to have travelled around Europe and see what was out there. Even during that time, I was pulled like a magnet to mothers, mothers to be and babies. And finally I made the decision to get trained. I am French, but my 10 years in London has left me a need to always keep a connection to the English language, and so I searched a training that could fulfil this need. I found the amazing Jesse Remer from Mother Tree Birth that luckily travels all around the world to pass on her knowledge. I am now a DONA's Birth and Postpartum Doula certification candidate , and as I want to always have more depth in the way I can help, I am also studying psychology at degree level. My goal is to be the person for you that will think of your needs at all times, empathise and accept whatever you may be feeling without judgement, understand and be present emotionally and physically for you, your partner and your family. I am available to reach you and your family in the Geneva area, all the way to Annecy.
How can I help you?
I always begin our relationship with a 2 hours appointment, in order for us to get to know each other. The aim of this free meeting is to find out what you are looking for and whether I could be the right person to help. After that, you take some time to think and let me know if we embark on this wonderful journey together. From then on, if we choose to work together, I am fully committed to you and your wellbeing. This implies that I will ensure that you are doing well emotionally and physically. I am also here to ensure that your environment is the best it can be, so I will want to see to your partner and children too. Although I may not have all the answers to your many questions, I am here to make sure that you know everything you need to, and I achieve that by collaborating and working closely with other professionals that could be helpful to you.
You have just undergone a huge event in your life. Until the birth, everyone and anyone was fussing about you, and around your beautiful round belly, but since you are back home if you birthed in a hospital or Birthing Center, or since the first few hours after delivery if you gave birth at home, you may have noticed a change in the attitudes of others around you, and of course in yourself. As your doula, I am here exclusively for you. Whatever your circumstances I am aware that life will no longer be the same. And I am here to ensure the transition from before to after goes as smoothly as possible. I am available for Postpartum Support up to 3 months after the birth, and as we meet, we can organise a schedule that fits us both.
Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum Support
Get extra personal support throughout the entirety of your birthing journey. As your Doula, I promise to become part of your life as your personal and unconditional support system, offering extra oxytocin, guidance and information to you and your family before, during, and after birth. I will stay in close contact in order to routinely check how you’re doing and offer anything needed.
The First 40 Days
During those very special first moments after the birth, support during the first 40 days of yours and baby's life together, I come into your life to allow you to get to know your baby, get your breastfeeding/ feeding relationship settled, let your body recuperate from the stress the birth has put on it. It is simply a time when I am here to pamper you. We can use these daily visits as it fits you best: Time for a shower, to chat, to cry, to laugh, to eat something warm and nutritious. You relax and bond with your baby and I care for you so you can be ready to care for your child.
